Q2 2021 Performance of Top Tabletop Board Games Apps in Latin America

In the second quarter of 2021, Latin America's Android platform saw significant activity in the tabletop board games category. Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive analysis of the top 5 applications in this genre, revealing interesting trends in downloads and user engagement.

Parchisi STAR Online, developed by Gameberry Labs, maintained a strong performance with downloads peaking at nearly 203K in mid-April before gradually descending to approximately 155K by the end of June. Weekly active users started at around 2.95M, with a slight decline over the quarter, settling near 2.62M.

The Ludo Club - Dice & Board Game, another offering from India by Moonfrog, also experienced a robust quarter. Downloads hovered around the 190K mark in the early weeks, reaching over 212K in mid-April, and finally tapering off to about 167K. Weekly active users showed an upward trend from 1.04M to 1.24M in May, before dipping to just over 1.11M by the quarter's end.

Chess - Play and Learn by Chess.com saw a consistent number of downloads starting at roughly 68K and ending the quarter at about 37K. Weekly active users demonstrated a slight decrease from 479K to 377K over the same period.

Backgammon - Lord of the Board by Beach Bum Ltd. showed variable download numbers, starting at 466 and spiking to 1.2K by the quarter's close. Active users remained fairly stable, with a slight increase from around 10.4K to 12.2K.

Lastly, MONOPOLY by Marmalade Game Studio displayed modest activity in the region. Downloads were the lowest among the top 5, beginning at 178 and reaching 343 in mid-April before ending at 131. Weekly active users peaked at approximately 1.57K in April and experienced a minor decline to 793 by the end of June.
